Analysis of Uncut
The masthead of the magazine is a bold red colour in capital letters that stands out and looks 3D. The background image is a long shot of the band in black and white which works well with the red masthead because the layout and colours do not clash and look off putting. There is a special offer for a free CD but does not link to the band on the front cover but it appears to the audience because the CD cover has more colour on it than the focused stories which adds more ‘life’ to the magazine and liven it up. There is a world exclusive banner in red and white which draws in the audience to read. There is a quote from the band which gives an indication of what the article is about and makes people tempted to buy it to read the rest of the story. Capital letters are used to make the smaller stories stand out and appear just as important. There is a slanted banner which emphasises the artical and makes the magazine look more appealing.
